First Impressions
MPX, or Melting Point Extracts used to be my go to brand for consistency in quality and price when I was a medical patient down in Florida a few years ago. I’m glad they brought that same consistency to the New Jersey market with this Strawberry Drip that I got from their flagship store, MPXNJ in Gloucester. It’s been a while since we’ve reviewed some MPX but they’ve never let us down before, so let's take a big dab of this Strawberry Drip and see what we think… Cheers!
Genetics and Terpenes
The Strawberry Drip strain is a hybrid strain that is the result of crossing Garlic Drip and Strawberry Guava. The dominant terpenes are myrcene and limonene. This batch is 5.73% in total terpenes.
Looks and Consistency
This live rosin badder is really, really nice looking. It’s terpy, and has a perfect consistency and color to it, confirming this Strawberry drip is dialed in.
Scent
I mainly get a good aroma of garlicky terps from this jar, but it's not as funky as say a GMO because it is balanced out by the sweetness of the Strawberry Guava that definitely rounds this out with some subtle strawberry notes.
Taste
I love rosin because it surprises you sometimes. The inhale on this was expected with a garlicky and sweet fruit inhale, but the exhale had a nice diesel expression and really caught me off guard after smelling the jar because it wasn’t really noticeable when I sniffed it.
Effects
For the first twenty minutes or so, I felt genuinely happy, mentally engaged, and completely free of any lingering stress. But, that energetic head-trip didn't last forever. As the session went on, the high distinctly shifted gears, pulling that initial mental buzz down into a deeply soothing, heavy body stone. I could literally pain actively melting away as the physical inflammation and aches I was having subsided, making this a good and effective choice for me when needing to treat pain.
Final Thoughts
I am so glad MPX brought their A-game to New Jersey, because this Strawberry Drip took me right back to the consistent, high-quality dabs I used to rely on. The way this high started off super happy and mentally engaged made it perfect for chilling out, but man, that heavy body stone that crept in later was the real MVP. Strawberry Drip became an instant favorite and is getting the Certified Stoner Stamp of Approval because I absolutely love concentrates that keep me guessing.
