First Impressions
One of our favorite jars so far this year came from NYCE, and as awesome as the Garlic Cocktail is, variety is the spice of life so today we are trying Frosted Oranges which we grabbed from Strong Strains on Long Island. If this jar is half as good as anything I’ve tried from NYCE then it will still be amazing. Let’s crack this seal and see how it dabs… Cheers!
Genetics and Terpenes
The Frosted Oranges strain is an evenly balanced hybrid that is the result of crossing The White and Agent Orange. The dominant terpenes are b-caryophylene and limonene. This batch is 5.32% in total terpenes.
Looks and Consistency
I’m not sure what’s with the NYCE jars coming looking like logs but the rosin looks straight fire, this is a light pale color and has a great consistency.
Scent
It definitely gives off some orange and vanilla vibes but not really creamsicle, it's more of a vanilla cake aroma with some orange zest hints to add to the overall aroma profile.
Taste
On the inhale, my mouth was coated with a sweet and sour citrusy orange taste. As I exhaled, I picked up a super sweet what seemed to be mango flavor finished with just a subtle, earthy hint.
Effects
I wasn't prepared for how fast this one was going to hit me. Before I even put my dab tool down, a bright, uplifting energy rushed straight to my head, completely wiping out my mental fog. I instantly felt happy, super alert, and ready to passionately talk about whatever was on the TV (just keep off the news, unless we’re talking about rescheduling). But right as I got settled in, this soothing, tingly sensation started creeping down my neck and into my legs. Within twenty minutes, I was extremely weighed down and even though my body felt like it weighed a thousand pounds, my mind was still racing with fun, creative, and fully engaged thoughts without an ounce of anxiety.
Final Thoughts
This may not out rank the Garlic Cocktail, but NYCE still crushed this extract… literally. The Frosted Oranges flawlessly balances the energetic, citrus-forward traits of its Agent Orange lineage with the heavy, balanced characteristics of The White. It gives me the exact sweet spot I’m always chasing, a high where my body gets to totally clock out and recover, but my brain gets to stay awake and actually enjoy the high. It's the perfect solventless treat and we’re giving it the Certified Stoners Stamp of Approval!
