First Impressions
I recently stopped by Simply Green and couldn't pass up this fascinating live rosin washed by NYCE. I love the genetics involved, Purple Punch was the first strain I ever grew, plus I love the uplifting, funky and pungent profile of Soap. I was incredibly excited to see how these two distinct strains merged into a live rosin extract. The Soap x Purple Punch strain is a balanced hybrid that is the result of crossing (Animal Mints and Kush Mints) and (Larry OG and Grand Daddy Purple). The dominant terpenes are b-baryophyllene and limonene. This batch is 7.93% in total terpenes.
Looks and Consistency
A gorgeous, glistening pool of golden badder. It had a beautifully wet, syrupy consistency and shine.
Scent
The aromas combine perfectly, where instead of having distinct notes of both strains the aromas mix in unison making an entirely new smell that is sweet but also funky. My nose picked up the earthy blueberries, grapes, and sweet herbal overtones where at times I even got small whiffs of what smelled like sweet ginger.
Taste
The flavor definitely leaned more into the lineage. The inhales were funky and leaned more into the Soap flavors while the exhale was as sweet as could be with a nice berry profile.
Effects
This dab smashed into my brain and instantly scrubbed away any negative moods or racing thoughts. It started with a get-up-and-move stimulation and a glowing warmth where I was radiating happiness. But that energetic sativa rush didn't last forever, as my mind crept higher, I was hit with the famous one-two punch of the Purple Punch lineage. My body began to drift away into a deeply relaxing and sedative state. It completely melted away my physical pains, eventually leaving me comfortably couch-locked and setting the stage for a long, peaceful night of sleep after a long day of work.
Final Thoughts
Honestly, NYCE really surprised me with this wash. I love how it starts off with that bright, happy energy that is perfect for when I'm just getting home and shedding the stress of the day. But man, you definitely don't want to make any big plans after taking a dab of this! Once that Purple Punch side creeps in, it completely melts you into the couch for the rest of the night.
