First Impressions
I’ve been hearing a lot of noise about Bl^ck Market’s reputation for dropping some fire strains so I finally pulled the trigger on a jar of Blvck Gelatti from Remedy, a Maryland recreational dispensary in Columbia. Bl^ck Market is selling a vibe before you even open the jar, but we will see if expectations hold up after we burn this doink… Cheers!
Genetics and Terpenes
The Blvck Gelatti strain is a hard hitting hybrid strain that is balanced 50/50 and a result of crossing Gelatti and Acai Berry Gelato. The dominant terpenes are limonene and b-caryophyllene. This batch is 2.09% in total terpenes.
Looks and Structure
The buds are showing off dark forest greens and trichomes that are clear cloudy and amber.
Scent
As soon as the jar popped, I got hit with creamy, candy, and dark fruit aromas, but there’s a faint fuel note underneath as well.
Taste
On the inhale, it tasted like berry gelato mixed with sugary dough, but the exhale surprised me with a sharp gassy spice.
Effects
This is where the strain really earns its reputation. The high didn't creep up on me; it hit within minutes. My eyes softened and my shoulders instantly dropped. It started with a nice cerebral lift that kept me uplifted and focused, but that quickly settled into a tension-free body melt. It strikes that elusive sweet spot between calm and clarity and is strong enough to erase a bad day, but not so sedating to just end it by falling asleep.
Final Thoughts
This was my first time trying out some of Bl^ck Markets’s flower and I have to say I’m impressed. The effects had to be the standout trait which delivered with long lasting and potent effects.
