First Impressions

Opening up this bag of Fade Co. Cake Mintz that I got from Story Cannabis, a Maryland recreational marijuana dispensary in Mechanicsville, had me excited for multiple reasons. First the huge 3.5G nug that was neatly placed waiting patiently for me in the bag, then second the beautiful cakey funky mints that aroma started to pour out of the bag and straight into my nose. I already got this one rolled up and ready to go… Cheers!

Genetics and Terpenes

The Cake Mintz strain is a result of crossing Wedding Cake and Kush Mints that is indica leaning 60/40. The dominant terpenes are beta-caryophyllene and limonene and this batch is 1.86% total terpenes.

Looks and Structure

This bag had one big long nug inside, the perfect bud to take pictures of, and these came out beautiful. The macro shots show the textures of the trichomes on the green nugs while also capturing the different light and dark orange pistils.

Scent

The nose on this is heavy, and the aroma fills up the room pretty quickly with a slightly cakey but more of a funky minty and fuel scent. I’d say this leans more towards the Kush Mints aroma in my opinion.

Taste

The taste however translated into a really smooth cakey and doughy inhale with a slight mint flavor on the exhale that was quickly taken over by heavier hints of a rich earthiness.

Effects

I found the effects of this Cake Mintz to be very balanced mentally and physically. I initially felt elevated and motivated, with a light on my feet feeling, making it easy to move around. Then the munchies hit, and I was stuck in my snack cabinet eating whatever salty and sweet snacks looked appetizing at the moment. Overall, I found it very enjoyable from start to finish especially because the effects were pretty long lasting.

Final Thoughts

I was extremely happy with this Cake Mintz, and will definitely be grabbing seconds on this one when I get the chance. I liked the big, long nug that looks absolutely beautiful and put off a heavy stank aroma. The flavor was consistent from start to finish and provided me with long lasting effects. I’d say this one checks all the boxes and is getting the Certified Stoner Stamp of Approval!
