First Impressions
I recently swung by A21 Wellness Dispensary to pick up some new flavors and I couldn't resist grabbing this batch of Duct Tape cultivated by Brookside Reserve. I've always been a massive fan of both Original Glue and Do-Si-Dos, so seeing them crossed together immediately caught my attention, plus I got to try out some different strains of Brookside Reserve’s rosin and flower at the NJ Dispo Takeover 4/20 event but not the Duct Tape so I’m excited to dive into this one to see what it's like… Cheers!
Genetics and Terpenes
The Duct Tape strain is a balanced hybrid that is the result of crossing Original Glue and Do-Si-Dos. The dominant terpenes are limonene and myrcene. This batch is 3.38% in total terpenes.
Looks and Structure
These buds are frosted out and have some large trichome heads. The coloring is really pretty too with this almost bluish green color to the leaves that contrast perfectly with the orange pistils.
Scent
The jar is pretty complex and definitely has a different aroma than most cannabis. It's got a chocolaty and nuttiness to it that blends with a slight pine tree aroma, this was done right, damn!
Taste
On the inhale, my mouth filled with a remarkably sweet, chocolatey, and nutty taste. As I exhaled, the smoke transformed into a heavy, pungent diesel and chemical earthiness.
Effects
This evenly balanced 50/50 hybrid hits incredibly fast and hard, bringing a level of potency that honestly left me kinda spinning at first. The experience kicked off straight in my head with a bright rush, instantly lifting my mood and giving me that perfect headspace to get lost in my own thoughts and ideas. As for the body side it provides a phenomenal, floaty body stone that actively worked at my chronic pain, loosening up my joints and making it easier to move around. It never really glued me to anything, while it was definitely more of a narcotic like stone, it never kept me weighed down. I found this great for after work when I needed a mental pick me up to help bounce back after a long day.
Final Thoughts
I’m glad I got to try this batch of Duct Tape from Brookside Reserve. After meeting some of their team at the NJ Dispo Takeover, it only makes sense that they are growing some of the best flowers in the state, they are a really cool brand with amazing people and that vibe for sure translates to the flower being grown. They are family owned and operated, using no-till living soil and are also hand trimming everything, they are not messing around when it comes to serving up the best buds. If you want to try some flower that gets the Certified Stoner Stamp of Approval then look no further than this Duct Tape from Brookside!
